What a grand day out this was! We were looked after royally by Mark & Sarah Dodson at their charming thatched 13th-century inn and restaurant.
This award-winning one-star Michelin restaurant has become deservedly renowned for its exceptional cuisine. Mark and Sarah do everything with taste and style, sourcing local ingredients wherever possible. Our happy gathering of lucky Fish Lovers' Saturday Lunch Club diners were treated to world-class food, including a delicious smoked haddock risotto – definitely my favourite dish of the day!
The Masons Arms is not just an excellent restaurant, it's still very much the village local, with a cosy low-beamed bar full of atmosphere. We ate in the stylish dining room, which has an elegant ceiling mural and panoramic views towards the rolling hills bordering Exmoor.
It was a day that we'll all remember with huge pleasure. Thank you Mark and Sarah!
